I was born in Bogota, Colombia, 1979, and brought to Australia at 8 weeks old by my adopted Australian parents. I grew up in Western Sydney, primarily around the Hawkesbury area. As a kid I was always drawing, everything from He-Man to Star Wars. If I didn’t have pen and paper in hand it was an odd occurrence. This continued through much of my youth. In my teens I became involved in music and was part of a hip hop group. I went on to be a solo artist, releasing an EP and two solo albums and appearing on various hip hop compilations.
It my late twenties I felt that I needed a creative change. My artistic expression came full circle when I enrolled in a community college course studying the basics of art. I had returned to my first creative love. Shortly thereafter I found the Julian Ashton Art School and enrolled on a part-time basis. It was around this point in time that I began to fully appreciate my interest in landscape painting and I began to seek out specific artists and workshops that could help me develop my skills. A connection to nature is something that is important to me and part of my heritage. My art is a way to express this and share with others the appreciation I have. My hope is that it will help you to see a little of the natural beauty in the world around you also.
I am an Associate member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and an Internation Brand Ambassador for Michael Harding Paints.
