I was born in UK and came to Australia with my family as a Ten Pound pom in 1972.
I have always lived and holidayed near the coast, settling originally in Largs Bay. I married and had two daughters and spent 12 years living in a small country town on the Yorke Peninsula, and I am now living in the Glenelg area.
I love the beach and coast with all its many changes and moods and this is reflected in my art work.
Although I painted a little on and off since finishing school, I only took up painting regularly, as a type of therapy, when I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer in 2012. Since then I havent looked back . I find it a terrific outlet for creativity and relaxation and I was lucky enought to paint and assist teaching at a local Gallery in Glenelg where I am inspired by all that is around me. I also paint at home whenever I can.
I enjoy using all types of mediums, originally oils and now mainly acrylic on canvas, but I like to experiment with texture, resin and natural products. I am always exploring new techniques and styles and this is reflected in the wide variety of art work that I produce. I enter art shows regularly and recently had a SALA exhibition at Portobellos Port Adelaide.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy creating it. |
